Registration open for 20th Annual Student Investment Luncheon
Hanceville, AL — Wallace State Community College’s Future Foundation announces that registration is open for its 20th annual Student Investment Luncheon & Auction to be held Thursday, Nov. 7, from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Traditions Bank Arena in Tom Drake Coliseum.
The Student Investment Luncheon and Auction is the premier fundraiser for the Foundation and provides over $200,000 each year for scholarships for Wallace State students. Each year, the event includes a catered meal, silent auction, live auction and an online auction. Scholarship recipients act as servers during the luncheon and are assigned to tables occupied by their donors.
“The Student Investment Luncheon is a wonderful event,” said Suzanne Harbin, Vice President for Advancement at Wallace State. “We are amazed each year by the generosity of our donors and watching them interact and build relationships with the students they support is extremely rewarding.”

In its two decades of existence, the Future Foundation has provided millions in scholarships to thousands of Wallace State students. The scholarships have ranged in size based on a student’s needs, whether it be $25 for gas to get to and from class to books or supplies to full scholarship for tuition and fees.
There are about 200 separate scholarships offered through the Foundation, with many named scholarships as memorials created by family and friends and others sponsored by specific businesses. There are more than 70 endowed scholarships of $25,000 or more that will provide funding to students in perpetuity.
Supporters of the Future Foundation have several options regarding the luncheon. Sponsorship levels range from Friend Sponsor at $125 to Legacy Sponsorship at $25,000 to attend the luncheon. Donors can also give directly to an existing scholarship or sponsor scholarships in their name for any donation of $2,500 or more.
Another way to support the Future Foundation is to provide items for the online, silent or live auction. The online auction will be held Oct. 9 through Oct. 27. The silent and live auctions will be held at the luncheon. College football game tickets, travel packages, dining packages, jewelry and more are some of the more popular live auction items offered in the past. Handmade crafts, baked goods, and more are much-anticipated items often included in the silent auction. Donations for the live and silent auction should be submitted by Oct. 17.
